Day 1: Cusco Inca Ruins – Camping at Piuray Lagoon
We will pick you up from your hotel at 7:30 am in our private transportation. Then we will head to the archaeological sites around the city of Cusco, such as Tambomachay, Puca Pucara, Q’enqo and finally we will visit the megalithic construction of Sacsayhuaman, the most important Andean temple built on Cusco in the fourteen centuries.After visiting these important places, we will return to the city of Cusco for lunch, finishing a light lunch, we will head to the district of Chinchero (3,800 m.a.s.l.), where we will be able to appreciate the farmlands and the Vilcanota mountain range with snow-capped peaks. We will arrive to this area in approximately 50 minutes, where we will visit one of the most traditional weaving centers, where all the families that work there do it as a communal cooperative. In this place you can appreciate the final result of their work that will be explained by themselves, you can also buy one of the beautiful pieces as a souvenir that you cannot get anywhere else.Finishing the activities in Chinchero, we head to the Piuray lagoon for our camp. Day 2: Kayaking and Stand up-Paddle at Piuray lagoon – Ollantaytambo
We will wake up at 7:00 a.m, with a special coca tea, you will have time to gather your belongings and walk around the lagoon to watch the sunrise while we prepare breakfast. After breakfast, we will be ready to start our water activities. For this we will have a personalized briefing from a professional kayaking guide. After the induction, we will enter the lagoon with all the necessary equipment for our safety, where you will put your water sports skills to the test, all under the constant supervision of our staff.
While enjoying the water activities, our specialized team of cooks will prepare the stone oven for our pachamanca, which is baked underground with hot stones mixed with specific local herbs for this exquisite dish. You will have the opportunity to participate directly in the entire pachamanca preparation process and finally enjoy this ancestral traditional meal.
After our lunch, we will head to the archaeological complex of Moray, the «Andean Agricultural Laboratory,» where we will analyze and understand the astonishing Incan scientific knowledge, structured into a set of three systems with a functional design imposed on the fertile surface. These systems were used for the adaptation of various plant species.
Finally, we will travel to Ollantaytambo to spend the night in a comfortable hotel.
Day 3: Short Inca Trail – Machupicchu
We take the early morning train from Ollantaytambo through the picturesque Sacred Valley to kilometer 104, where we begin the tour (the entire route is a moderate hike), but before that, we will visit the Inca complex of Chachabamba. Our hike continues gently uphill for over three hours until we reach the beautiful Inca complex of Wiñay Wayna. During this part of the tour, we will have the opportunity to enjoy the stunning subtropical landscapes surrounded by unique flora and fauna. We continue for two hours until we reach the Sun Gate, from where we will have our first view of Machu Picchu. We walk down past the majestic archaeological complex and then take the bus to Aguas Calientes for a relaxing night in a comfortable hotel.
Day 4: Machupicchu – Cusco
Very early in the morning, after breakfast, we’ll take the bus to Machu Picchu, where we’ll tour the stunning architecture and mysterious temples of Andean masters and skilled stonemasons. A professional guide will help us understand the sophisticated technology of this highly advanced culture. Once the official tour is over, we’ll have plenty of time to explore the Sanctuary on our own before returning to Cusco by train via Ollantaytambo in the afternoon.

The Short Inca Trail is moderate. It’s a 10 km (6.2 miles) hike that takes around 6–7 hours, with some steep sections. We recommend good physical condition and proper acclimatization.
Yes! The itinerary is suitable for active families. The kayaking and paddleboarding are beginner-friendly, and the Short Inca Trail is manageable for children over 10 years old.
The best time is April to October (dry season), with June to August being the busiest months. November to March is the rainy season, but the landscapes are lush and green.
